“The Biblical Church is a Spiritual organization, a Spiritual body to be governed through the Spirit instead of through the senses. When sense knowledge gained the ascendency and fountain of the Church, the theological school, the Church ceased to be a Spiritual body and simply has become a body of men governed by sense knowledge” ~ E.W. Kenyon
This was written in the early 1900’s and we can see the damage that it has continued to bring in our day. The sense knowledge wars against spiritual truth such as gay marriage, healing, miracles, signs and wonders. It begins to dismiss the foundational Kingdom truth’s that the Church was established on.
Even seminaries and ministry schools in our day are spitting out huge numbers of men and women groomed in sense knowledge. Whereas sons fathered by men who live by the Spirit (as Jesus displayed and men such as the Apostle Paul continued) and daughters mothered by women who live their lives led of the Spirit.
This has caused a great erosion of Spiritual power in the Church. People are functioning based on the five senses rather that Spiritual faith.
We see pastors responding in the flesh in such ways that the Spirit of the Lord is greatly grieved. They will defend themselves by saying “I am only human”. Then what are you doing in the pulpit? Do you not know that the old man has been crucified with Christ and the New man lives in the manner for which Jesus teaches us? (Rom 6:6)
Maybe it’s time you revisit the Book of Titus and read 1:5-10;
The reason I stationed you in Crete was so that you could set things in order and complete what was left unfinished, and to raise up andappoint church elders in every city, just as I had instructed you. Each of them must be above reproach, devoted solely to his wife, whose children are believers and not rebellious or out of control. The overseer, since he serves God’s household, must be someone of blameless character and not be opinionated or short-tempered. He must not be a drunkard or violent or greedy. Instead he should be one who is known for his hospitality and a lover of goodness. He should be recognized as one who is fair-minded, pure-hearted, and self-controlled. He must have a firm grasp of the trustworthy message that he has been taught. This will enable him to both encourage others with healthy teachings and provide convincing answers to those who oppose his message
and 2:1-9;
Your duty is to teach them to embrace a lifestyle that is consistent with sound doctrine. Lead the male elders into disciplined lives full of dignity and self-control. Urge them to have a solid faith, generous love, and patient endurance. Likewise with the female elders, lead them into lives free from gossip and drunkenness and to be teachers of beautiful things. This will enable them to teach the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children, and to be self-controlled and pure, taking care of their household and being devoted to their husbands. By doing these things the word of God will not be discredited. Likewise, guide the younger men into living disciplined lives for Christ. Above all, set yourself apart as a model of a life nobly lived. With dignity, demonstrate integrity in all that you teach. Bring a clear, wholesome message that cannot be condemned, and then your critics will be embarrassed, with nothing bad to say about us. Servants are to be supportive of their masters and do what is pleasing in every way. They are not to be argumentative nor steal but prove themselves to be completely loyal and trustworthy. By doing this they will advertise through all that they do the beautiful teachings of God our Savior.
Praise God, for Holy Spirit commissioned by the Father, is raising up a Remnant in this day which is recieving the true revelation of the sons of God and they are waking up the Bride.
Let us pray that the Church as a whole is moved by the Spirit, and repents for straying from the truth, for trading in Holy Spirit led lives for those which are governed by carnal flesh senses, so that the Fire of God will rest upon His Bride once more that this land called America can be reclaimed for the purposes of the Father and His Kingdom to the Glory of His Name. ~Dr. Russ Welch, Th.D.
