For generations, much of the Church has approached the Book of Revelation as though its primary purpose were to provide a prophetic timetable of the last days. We have studied the seals, trumpets, bowls, beasts, the Antichrist, and the judgments of God. We have debated the timing of the Rapture, the Tribulation, and the return of Christ. Yet, in our fascination with prophetic events, have we overlooked the very Person the book was written to unveil? John did not begin by declaring, “The revelation of the end times.” He began with something infinitely greater: “The Revelation of Jesus Christ.”
The Greek word apokalypsis means an unveiling, an uncovering, or a disclosure of something previously concealed. The Book of Revelation is not merely an announcement of what is coming upon the earth; it is an unveiling of the glorified, reigning, victorious Son of God! The same Jesus who walked the shores of Galilee, healed the sick, delivered the oppressed, and surrendered His life upon the Cross is now revealed as the risen King, the faithful Witness, the Lion of Judah, the Lamb upon the Throne, and the One who holds the keys of death and Hades. Until we recognize the One who governs the events, we will struggle to understand the events themselves.
Consider what happened to John. In Revelation 1:10, he declares, “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day.” John was not simply observing earthly circumstances through natural understanding. He was receiving a supernatural unveiling of the eternal purposes of God. When he turned to see the Voice speaking with him, he encountered the glorified Christ in a dimension of revelation that overwhelmed his natural senses. John fell at His feet as though dead! Before John was shown the judgments, the conflict between the Kingdom and the powers of darkness, or the ultimate restoration of all things, he was confronted with the majesty and authority of the One who reigns over them all.
Here is where I believe the modern Church must reconsider its approach to this extraordinary book. When we begin with the revelation of Jesus Christ, the prophetic timelines begin to find their proper place within the eternal purposes of the Father. The seals, trumpets, bowls, the rise and fall of earthly kingdoms, the warfare against the saints, and the final victory of the Lamb are no longer disconnected prophetic mysteries. They become part of the unfolding testimony of Christ’s authority, His righteousness, His judgments, and the ultimate establishment of His reign. This does not eliminate the need for careful interpretation, nor does it settle every debate concerning chronology. But it gives us the foundation without which our interpretations can become consumed with speculation rather than revelation.
Perhaps this is why so many believers approach Revelation with fear instead of faith, confusion instead of confidence, and an obsession with identifying the Antichrist rather than a burning desire to know Christ Himself. We have produced countless charts attempting to explain when everything will happen, yet have we given equal attention to understanding WHO holds the future in His hands? Revelation was never intended to magnify the power of darkness above the glory of the Lamb. Its prophetic warnings are real, its judgments are serious, and its promises are eternal. But the testimony of Jesus Christ remains central to the entire book.
Revelation 19:10 declares, “For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
Remnant, perhaps the greatest revelation awaiting the Church is not the discovery of another prophetic date or the identification of another emerging world power. Perhaps it is the recovery of our spiritual sight, that we might behold the fullness of the One who was, who is, and who is to come! When Christ becomes the center of our understanding, the prophetic Word begins to illuminate the eternal purposes of the Father. We stop reading Revelation merely to discover what will happen to the world and begin reading it to understand how the Lamb will bring all things under His righteous authority.
The Book of Revelation does not conclude with the triumph of the Antichrist, the destruction of the nations, or the collapse of earthly systems. It concludes with the Throne of God and of the Lamb, the removal of the curse, and His servants seeing His face! (Revelation 22:3–4).
The destination of Revelation is not darkness. It is the eternal reign of the Lamb and the dwelling of God with His people!
THE QUESTION IS NOT SIMPLY WHETHER WE UNDERSTAND THE LAST DAYS. THE QUESTION IS WHETHER WE HAVE TRULY BEHELD THE ONE WHO HOLDS THE LAST DAYS IN HIS HANDS!
Stay tuned, the journey continues…..

CONTINUE THE JOURNEY INTO THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST
For generations, much of the Church has approached the Book of Revelation searching for prophetic timelines, the rise of the Antichrist, and the events surrounding the last days. Yet the very first verse declares that this extraordinary book is the Revelation of Jesus Christ! Before we can properly discern the unfolding of prophetic events, we must first behold the One who holds all things in His hands. Revelation is not primarily an invitation to fear the future, but an unveiling of the glorified King, His eternal authority, His righteous judgments, and the ultimate triumph of His Kingdom.
In my commentary, Revelation: The Revelation of Jesus Christ — The Beginning and the End, I invite readers to journey beyond traditional prophetic speculation and discover the magnificent unveiling of the Son of God. Through an examination of the Scriptures, we explore the prophetic visions of John in the light of Christ’s eternal purposes, recognizing that the mysteries of Revelation must be understood through the One who is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. The question is not simply whether we understand what is coming upon the earth, but whether our spiritual eyes have been opened to behold the King who reigns over it all!
