A HOLY REMNANT | PART 2 OF 3

What felt like destruction may have been the furnace of preparation.

Some fires arrive without explanation. A betrayal tears through a relationship. A door closes after years of prayer. A season of physical weakness changes the rhythm of life. A ministry assignment becomes lonely, misunderstood, or costly. Sometimes the entire world around us seems to shift, and suddenly we realize that the environment in which we have been called to serve is very different from the one we once knew.

In those moments, it is easy to look at the smoke surrounding us and conclude that something has gone terribly wrong.

We often interpret suffering as disqualification. We assume that if God were truly with us, the road would be smoother, the resistance lighter, and the outcome more predictable. Yet Scripture repeatedly reveals that God forms some of His most trustworthy vessels in places where human strength becomes insufficient.

The furnace does not create our calling, but it exposes what must be surrendered so that we can carry that calling without being destroyed by it.

The holy Remnant is not simply a people who escaped the fire. It is a people who encountered God within it and emerged possessing a deeper allegiance than they carried before.

THE FURNACE REVEALS WHAT COMFORT CONCEALS

“Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.” — Isaiah 48:10

Fire reveals what is present within a substance. When precious metal is heated, impurities rise to the surface so they can be removed. The process is violent toward everything that does not belong, but the purpose of the furnace is not to destroy the gold. It is to reveal it.

Spiritual refinement works in much the same way. Pressure exposes fear, pride, self-reliance, resentment, bitterness, the need for approval, and loyalties we did not realize were divided. This exposure is not an invitation to condemnation. It is an invitation to surrender.

Holy Spirit brings hidden things into the light so they no longer govern us from the shadows.

Comfort can allow false dependencies to remain concealed. The furnace makes them visible. When familiar supports disappear, we discover whether our confidence rests completely in Jesus Christ or whether some portion of our security has quietly become attached to circumstances, people, recognition, finances, political stability, cultural acceptance, ministry success, or our own ability to control the outcome.

That discovery can be painful, but it is also merciful.

God is preparing a people who cannot be purchased by comfort, controlled by fear, manipulated by outrage, or silenced by discomfort.

PETER WAS REFINED THROUGH FAILURE

Before the Cross, Peter spoke confidently about his loyalty to Jesus. He was willing to draw a sword, make bold declarations, and insist that he would never fall away. Yet beside another fire, under the pressure of simple questions, that confidence collapsed.

Three times he denied knowing the One he loved.

Peter’s failure did not become the final definition of his life. Jesus restored him, but that restoration accomplished much more than removing shame. It transformed the foundation of Peter’s courage.

The man who once trusted his own strength became a man who understood his complete dependence upon grace.

Then on the Day of Pentecost, Peter stood publicly and proclaimed Jesus Christ without the brittle confidence of self-reliance. His authority was now flowing from surrender and from the power of Holy Spirit.

Some believers look at their broken places and assume those places remove them from the Remnant. Peter’s story tells us something entirely different. When failure is honestly brought before Jesus, it can become part of the furnace through which false strength is removed and genuine spiritual authority is formed.

The fire may expose you, but exposure in the hands of Jesus can become preparation.

REFINEMENT IS NOT REJECTION

We need to make an important distinction here. Not every tragedy is directly sent by God, and biblical faith does not require us to pretend that pain is pleasant.

We live in a fallen world. Human beings make destructive choices. Nations experience violence. Families experience loss. Spiritual opposition is real. Evil ideologies rise. Governments make decisions that affect generations. Sometimes we walk through circumstances whose complete meaning we may not understand for years.

Biblical faith does not call evil good.

It declares that evil does not possess final authority over a life surrendered to Jesus Christ.

The Father can redeem what the enemy intended to use for destruction. He can turn grief into compassion, weakness into dependence, scars into testimony, opposition into endurance, and confusion into discernment.

Romans chapter 8 verse 28 does not tell us that everything that happens is good. It tells us that God is able to work through all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

That distinction is vital.

We do not blame God for every wound, and we do not grant the enemy ownership of our story.

Jesus remains Lord within the furnace.

What touched your life does not possess the authority to determine what your life will ultimately become.

THE FIRE CHANGES THE WAY YOU SEE THE BATTLE

There is another work refinement accomplishes that becomes increasingly important in times of spiritual conflict.

The furnace teaches us the difference between reacting emotionally and responding spiritually.

An unrefined believer can easily become controlled by fear, offense, anger, or outrage. When darkness appears, everything becomes personal. People become enemies. Political disagreement becomes hatred. Cultural conflict becomes an excuse for contempt. Spiritual warfare slowly becomes warfare against flesh and blood.

But the fire should be burning that reaction out of us.

A mature Remnant must be capable of recognizing darkness without becoming dark in the process.

We must be able to confront deception without becoming hateful. We must be able to identify destructive ideologies without despising the people trapped within them. We must be able to recognize spiritual forces operating through cultures, governments, movements, and systems while remembering what Paul taught in Ephesians chapter 6 verse 12: our wrestling is ultimately not against flesh and blood.

That kind of discernment does not usually come cheaply.

It is forged in the furnace.

THE MARKS OF A REFINED REMNANT

A refined believer is not necessarily the loudest person in the room. Refinement often produces something much more powerful: steadiness.

It creates people who can remain prayerful while others panic, maintain compassion while others become cruel, and speak truth without needing to humiliate another human being.

The fire removes the need to prove ourselves and replaces it with the quiet weight of knowing to whom we belong.

A refined Remnant becomes increasingly difficult for darkness to manipulate. Offense cannot easily redirect them. Flattery cannot easily purchase them. Fear cannot easily silence them. Political hysteria cannot dictate their theology. Cultural pressure cannot rewrite Scripture. Their identity is no longer dependent upon the approval of the crowd because intimacy with the Father has become their place of security.

This is why holiness is not merely a private moral concern.

Sanctification is strategic.

Every surrendered appetite closes a door to manipulation. Every act of obedience strengthens spiritual clarity. Every hidden compromise brought beneath the blood of Jesus removes something the accuser might have attempted to use against our witness.

And every wound that is healed prevents the enemy from turning our pain into hatred.

That last one matters enormously.

Because the Remnant cannot carry Heaven’s answer to darkness while secretly carrying the spirit of the darkness it has been called to confront.

THE SECRET PLACE PREPARES US FOR PUBLIC CONFLICT

Before the Remnant can properly confront what is happening in the world, it must learn to remain before the Lord.

The secret place is where our motives are purified. It is where fear loses its voice. It is where anger is brought beneath the lordship of Jesus. It is where Holy Spirit teaches us the difference between righteous discernment and fleshly reaction.

Jesus Himself lived from communion with the Father.

Before confronting religious systems, political powers, demonic oppression, sickness, unbelief, or human brokenness, He remained anchored in His relationship with the Father.

That must become the posture of the Remnant.

Otherwise we may correctly identify a spiritual enemy while responding to it with the wrong spirit.

And Heaven is not simply looking for people who can identify darkness.

Heaven is preparing people who can carry light into it.

DO NOT DESPISE WHAT GOD HAS BEEN FORMING

You may look back over the last several years and see delay, loss, conflict, disappointment, or obscurity. Heaven may see roots growing deeper.

You may see the collapse of plans you believed were essential. Heaven may see freedom from an identity that could never carry the weight of your next assignment.

You may see scars. Heaven may see evidence that the enemy struck you and still could not take your yes away from God.

The Remnant is refined, engaged, available, dedicated, and yielded. Those qualities are rarely produced through ease alone. They are formed through repeated decisions to trust Jesus when another path appears safer, faster, easier, or more rewarding.

The furnace asks a difficult question:

Will you continue belonging completely to God when obedience costs more than you expected?

Do not romanticize your pain, but do not waste it either.

Bring the disappointment, anger, unanswered questions, and places of weakness into the presence of the Father. Let Holy Spirit separate the wound from the lie that attached itself to it. Let Him show you what must be healed, what must be forgiven, what must be released, and what the fire has already strengthened within you.

Because we are entering an hour in which wounded people reacting from fear will not be enough.

The world has changed.

The spiritual battles facing this generation are real.

The ideologies confronting the Gospel are real.

The struggle for the hearts and minds of nations is real.

But the Remnant cannot enter that battle carrying hatred, bitterness, prejudice, or fear. We must enter it carrying the character of Jesus Christ, the truth of His Word, the authority of His Kingdom, the discernment of Holy Spirit, and a love powerful enough to distinguish the captive from the power holding the captive.

The fire did not necessarily disqualify you.

Perhaps it has been preparing you to stand in an hour when shallow roots will not endure.

God is raising a people whose lives have been tested, whose allegiance has been clarified, whose discernment has been sharpened, and whose worship does not depend upon favorable circumstances.

The enemy expected the furnace to consume you.

Heaven intends for your life to come out carrying fire.

A PRAYER FOR REFINEMENT AND HEALING

Father, I bring You every fire I have walked through and every wound I still do not understand. Heal what was broken, expose every lie that attached itself to my pain, and redeem what the enemy intended for harm.

Remove fear, pride, bitterness, prejudice, offense, and self-reliance, but preserve everything You have planted within me. Teach me to recognize spiritual darkness without despising the people You desire to redeem. Give me discernment without suspicion, courage without hatred, authority without pride, and truth saturated with Your love.

Make me steadfast, pure, compassionate, watchful, and wholly yielded to Jesus. Let the fire become a testimony of Your faithfulness and prepare me to carry Your presence into the battles of this generation.

CONTINUE THE SERIES

In Part Three, we will move from identity and preparation into assignment.

Our nation experienced a defining moment on September 11, 2001. The attacks carried out by al-Qaeda did far more than destroy buildings and take innocent lives; they helped usher America into a profoundly different national and global environment.

Twenty-five years later, the Remnant must understand the hour without surrendering to fear or hatred.

We will talk plainly about radical Islamist ideology, spiritual warfare, the struggle over nations and cultures, and the responsibility of the Ekklesia to stand against systems of domination, violence, deception, and spiritual bondage.

But we will make an equally important distinction: Muslims are not our enemy.

They are people for whom Jesus Christ died.

Our warfare is spiritual. Our Gospel remains good news. Our assignment is not hatred, retaliation, or dehumanization. It is truth, prayer, discernment, compassion, evangelism, deliverance, and the advance of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

The Remnant was not refined merely to survive the changing world.

We were prepared to carry Heaven’s answer into it.

From Addiction and Hidden Bondage to a Life That Now Carries Freedom Into the Prisons of Others

There comes a moment when a man stops trying to explain his life through the language of survival and begins to see it through the lens of redemption. I have lived long enough to know that the enemy loves to weaponize a person’s past, especially when that past carries addiction, shame, hidden bondage, failure, and years of wrestling in places many people never saw. But I have also lived long enough to know that what Jesus Christ redeems, hell no longer has the authority to erase.

My testimony is not the story of a man who cleaned himself up, figured life out, and then stepped into ministry. My testimony is the story of a man Jesus found in darkness, carried through fire, and met with a love so holy and powerful that shame lost its grip. For years, even while studying Scripture, earning degrees, preaching, writing, and serving in ministry, there were hidden places where bondage, guilt, condemnation, and the weight of the past still tried to speak louder than the finished work of the cross.

Then came the mercy of God. The Lord did not simply give me more religious language; He brought me into an encounter with the heart of the Father that broke something deep within me. He showed me that my story was not disqualified by the broken places, but that those very places would become part of the witness He would use to reach others still trapped behind the walls of addiction, religious striving, shame, fear, and inward captivity.

This is why I believe the testimony of Jesus is not merely something we tell; it is something we carry. Revelation 12:11 says they overcame by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. That does not mean testimony is a formula or a performance, but it does mean that when the Blood of Jesus has truly marked a life, that life becomes a living witness that the enemy did not win, the grave did not have the final word, and bondage does not get to define the redeemed.

For me, this is not about building another platform, gaining another title, or creating another ministry project. This is about returning to the burning center of the call: to make the name of Jesus known and to carry the message of freedom into the prisons of others. Some prisons have bars and steel doors, but many others are hidden inside the soul, buried under years of addiction, trauma, religious condemnation, family wounds, secret battles, and identities shaped by pain.

Remnant Warrior Ministries was never meant to be a religious brand. It was birthed to help raise up a people who know how to stand in the finished victory of Christ, walk in beloved identity, break agreement with darkness, and live as sons and daughters governed by Holy Spirit. My own testimony is one of the clearest doors into that assignment because I am not preaching freedom as a theory. I am carrying witness to the One who broke chains I could not break in my own strength.

In this season, I believe the Lord is bringing me back to the heart of the ministry call. The books, the podcasts, the teachings, the commentaries, and the training resources all matter, but they must remain connected to the fire of testimony. Before people meet the author, the teacher, the pastor, or the prophetic voice, I want them to encounter the witness of a man who was rescued by Jesus Christ and now lives to tell others that freedom is still possible.

I am also sensing the Lord opening fresh doors to carry this testimony and message beyond the written page and the weekly broadcast. I am open to coming alongside churches, recovery ministries, men’s gatherings, prison outreach settings, Kingdom training environments, and leadership gatherings where the heart is not entertainment, but transformation. My desire is not to fill a calendar, but to carry the witness of what Jesus has done into rooms where people need to know that addiction is not stronger than the Blood, shame is not stronger than sonship, and hidden bondage is not greater than the finished work of the cross.

This is a return to the heart of the call. I am asking the Lord to open the right doors, connect this testimony with the right rooms, and send the message wherever captives are ready to hear the sound of freedom. If this testimony can become a bridge for one person to encounter Jesus in the middle of addiction, shame, hidden bondage, or religious exhaustion, then every mile of the journey becomes another reason to give Him glory.

Hell may remember who you were, but Heaven declares who you are in Christ. The enemy may try to accuse, distort, and replay the past, but he cannot erase the testimony that has been washed in the Blood of the Lamb. This is the testimony hell cannot erase, and I believe there are captives waiting to hear it so they can discover that Jesus still walks into prisons and calls sons and daughters out by name.

RELIGION HAS WOUNDED THE BRIDE — BUT CHRIST IS SETTING HER FREE

What much of the Church in America has slipped into would scarcely be recognized by the Apostles.

I have been told that I speak against the Church too much, and to an undiscerning eye, perhaps that may appear true. But a discerning eye understands that I am not speaking against the Bride of Christ. I am speaking against that which has taken portions of the Bride hostage.

Religion is one of the stealth weapons of Hell. It has destroyed congregations, wounded believers, derailed destinies, and hardened hearts against the very truth it claims to defend. Religion boasts of obedience while attacking those whose only crime is being obedient to Christ. It exalts systems, traditions, titles, structures, and expectations above the living voice of the King, then condemns those who refuse to bow.

And religion is sly. It has woven its way into nearly every major move of God since Martin Luther nailed the Ninety-Five Theses to the church door at Wittenberg. It found its way into the Protestant Reformation, the Latter Rain movement, the Faith movement, the Healing movement, the Charismatic movement, the Fathering movement, and now even into portions of the Apostolic renewal. Again and again, what begins as a fresh move of Holy Spirit is gradually surrounded by the structures of men until the wineskin becomes more sacred than the wine.

Yet in every generation, the Lord has preserved a Remnant.

There remains an Ekklesia of sons and daughters who bow to Christ alone. Many of them have already been delivered from the chains of religion. They have been bruised by systems, misunderstood by leaders, rejected by institutions, and yet they still hunger for the presence of God. They do not desire another religious machine. They desire Jesus. They desire truth. They desire the presence of the Father. They desire the freedom of Holy Spirit and the life of the Kingdom.

And as Heaven turns up the heat, structures that carry the Name of Christ in title while denying His nature in practice will increasingly be exposed. What has been hidden behind polished platforms, religious language, titles, traditions, and institutional loyalty will not remain hidden forever.

While those structures are being shaken, the true Ekklesia is already at work.

She is reaching for the tired, the bruised, the betrayed, the disappointed, and the spiritually homeless. She is calling sons and daughters out of bondage and back into relationship. She is reminding them that their destiny was never to become servants of religion, but sons and daughters of the living God who walk with Christ and live from the presence of their Father in the heavenly realms.

The Lord is not abandoning His Church.

He is delivering her.

ARE WE BUILDING WHAT JESUS NEVER COMMANDED?

There is a question the Church must be willing to ask: Have we become so busy building our ministries that we have neglected the command of Christ to disciple the nations?

Jesus never commissioned us to build personal platforms, protect religious institutions, or measure success by attendance, followers, buildings, budgets, or recognition. He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). He taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

The Shiftng Winds of Change – They are a Blowing

When Holy Spirit shifts the winds, everything built by man must yield to what Heaven is restoring.

There is a shifting taking place in the spiritual landscape, and I believe part of that shifting is a work of Holy Spirit within His own Church. This is not a call to reject leadership, despise authority, or tear down those whom God has genuinely called. Scripture leaves no room for such a conclusion. Christ gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers for the equipping of the saints and the building up of the Body according to Ephesians 4:11–13. Paul instructed elders to lead faithfully, Timothy was entrusted with significant responsibility, and Titus was commissioned to establish order among the churches. Biblical authority is real, necessary, and worthy of honor.

The issue is something far more subtle. The danger begins when authority ceases to function as service and begins functioning as status; when an apostolic gift becomes an apostolic class; when honor becomes hierarchy; and when attention that belongs to Christ begins gathering around personalities. That distinction is critical because religion seldom enters a movement by openly denying Jesus. More often, it enters by slowly changing what surrounds Him. Christ remains in the vocabulary while human importance grows in the structure. His name remains on the banner while personalities increasingly occupy the center of the room.

When Consecrated Believers Changed Cities, Regions, and Nations

Throughout the history of the Church, God has repeatedly demonstrated that He does not require a majority in order to transform a territory. Again and again, when culture was deteriorating, religious systems had grown cold, or nations were drifting farther from righteousness, the Lord raised up a consecrated people who refused to accept darkness as inevitable. They prayed, preached, discipled, confronted injustice, served their communities, and carried the presence of God beyond the walls of their gatherings.

The lesson of Tours for the Ecclesia is not that Christians must pick up earthly weapons against their Muslim neighbors. Our weapons are not carnal. The lesson is that there are moments in history when a people must recognize what is advancing toward them, understand what they believe, and refuse to surrender the ground entrusted to them.

THE CHURCH WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE A BUILDING

JESUS NEVER SAID, ‘GO BUILD CHURCHES’— STOP BUILDING MONUMENTS—START MAKING DISCIPLES

Millions—if not billions—of dollars will be spent building church buildings, ministry centers, campuses, monuments, and religious institutions, while America remains spiritually starving for the Word of God—not merely preached in truth, but demonstrated through lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.

The final command of Jesus was never, “Go build buildings.” He commanded His followers to go into the world, preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, make disciples, heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons, and demonstrate that the Kingdom of Heaven had come near. The mission was people—not property. The mandate was disciples—not monuments. The evidence was transformed lives, supernatural power, sacrificial love, and obedience to the King.

For nearly three centuries, the Gospel of the Kingdom spread like wildfire without massive cathedrals, multimillion-dollar campuses, celebrity platforms, or religious corporations. Believers carried the presence of God from house to house, city to city, and nation to nation. They turned the world upside down because the Ecclesia was a living people under the Lordship of Jesus Christ—not an institution confined to a building.

Then something shifted. What began as a living, Spirit-led movement increasingly became entangled in religious structures, traditions, rituals, political power, and systems created by men. The Ecclesia that was born to advance the Kingdom became increasingly imprisoned behind walls—both physical and spiritual.

Perhaps the great reformation before us is not about building bigger churches, but recovering the Ecclesia Jesus actually established: a people filled with Holy Spirit, walking in holiness, making disciples, healing the broken, confronting darkness, serving the poor, preaching the Kingdom, and carrying the presence of God beyond the walls.

Some of the greatest movements of God in history did not begin inside impressive buildings—they erupted in fields, on farms, in open-air gatherings, on street corners, and in places society had written off. The Ecclesia was never designed to retreat from contested ground; it was called to occupy it with the presence, truth, compassion, and power of the Kingdom.

Brother David Wilkerson often emphasized that church was not merely what happened when thousands gathered inside a sanctuary—it truly came alive when the doors opened and believers carried the Gospel into the streets. The Ecclesia must function wherever darkness has taken territory, because those are the very places the Kingdom of God was sent to invade.

And what would happen if the Ecclesia rediscovered what Jesus actually established?

We would see believers leave the safety of religious routine and begin carrying the Kingdom into neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, streets, hospitals, government, and every place darkness has claimed territory. Disciples would make disciples. The broken would be restored. The sick would be prayed for. The oppressed would encounter freedom. The poor would be served. Truth would confront compromise, and the presence of God would no longer be confined to a Sunday gathering. We would not simply see larger churches—we would see cities transformed. That is what happens when the Ecclesia becomes the Ecclesia again.

The world does not need another monument to Christianity.

It needs to encounter Christ through His people.

We must become the altar where the fire falls again.

“Big Screens, Skinny Jeans and Smoke Machines”

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” — 2 Timothy 4:3

I went looking for the verse that explains what I keep seeing, and I found it.

Somewhere along the way, a strange qualification quietly attached itself to the pulpit. Nobody wrote it into a creed. Nobody voted on it in a denominational meeting.

But walk through the marketing of half the “prophetic voices” and “apostolic leaders” filling your timeline and you’ll find the unwritten job description: sleeve tattoos on both arms, a designer beard maintained better than most people’s marriages, a wardrobe that costs more than a month of rent for half the congregation funding it. Charisma on camera. A logo. A brand.

Somewhere, we stopped asking whether a man walks in the fear of the Lord and started asking whether he looks like he could headline a festival.

“I was in a meeting when brother Mario Murillo asked a piercing question: ‘When did the church become lukewarm? Maybe when we replaced the Holy Spirit with big screens, skinny jeans, and fog machines.’ The problem isn’t a screen, a pair of jeans, or a fog machine. The problem begins when production becomes the substitute for Presence, personality replaces anointing, and the platform becomes more important than the altar.”

The Word Never Asked for a Brand

Paul gave Timothy and Titus the actual job description for anyone who wants to stand in front of God’s people. It has nothing to do with aesthetics.

An overseer must be blameless, not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre — but a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate (Titus 1:7-8).

He must be one that ruleth well his own house, not a novice, and have a good report of them which are without (1 Timothy 3:4-7). Peter told the elders to feed the flock of God, taking the oversight thereof, not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; neither as being lords over God’s heritage (1 Peter 5:2-3).

Read those lists as many times as you want. You will not find “must have a compelling personal brand.” You will not find “must dress like he’s about to drop an album.” You will find character. You will find the fear of the Lord. You will find a warning, repeated twice in two different letters to two different men, about money.

That repetition is not an accident. God knew exactly what would try to hijack the pulpit two thousand years later.

Building a Kingdom, or Building a Legacy?

There is a difference between a ministry that builds the Kingdom of God and a ministry that builds a personal empire wearing Kingdom language as a costume.

You can tell the difference by where the money goes. A house of God that pours its resources into reaching the lost, discipling the broken, and caring for the widow and the orphan is building a Kingdom.

A house that pours millions into a private jet, a mansion compound, and a wardrobe budget while quietly building a media empire and a family dynasty to inherit it — that is not a ministry anymore. That is a business with a worship set.

Jesus walked into the temple and turned over the tables of the men who had figured out how to monetize access to God. He did not do it quietly. He did not do it politely. My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves (Matthew 21:13). If He was willing to flip tables over doves being sold in the outer court, what does He think about a nine-figure media empire built on offerings collected in His name?

Paul asked the Corinthians a question the American Church needs to sit with: we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity (2 Corinthians 2:17). The word there for “corrupt” was used for shopkeepers who watered down their wine to increase their profit margin. Paul saw it coming. Peddlers of the gospel, diluting the truth to move more product.

Micah saw it too, centuries earlier: The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire… yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, Is not the Lord among us? none evil can come upon us (Micah 3:11). Notice that — they still used God’s name. They still claimed His presence. They just taught for hire while doing it.

Itching Ears Built This Platform

None of this could happen without willing customers. Paul didn’t just warn Timothy about corrupt teachers — he warned him about a congregation that would demand them.

They will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers (2 Timothy 4:3).

Read that carefully. The people heap up the teachers. They go looking for a voice that will scratch the itch of what they already wanted to hear, and they will keep hiring and firing preachers until they find one who never makes them uncomfortable.

An itching-ears culture doesn’t want a shepherd who will correct it.

It wants a celebrity who will affirm it, entertain it, and look good doing it. So the marketplace responded exactly the way marketplaces do. It manufactured the product being demanded — polished, tattooed, designer-dressed, and camera-ready — because a congregation with itching ears will fund the platform every single time.

This is not a story about a few bad men. It is a transaction. And it will not stop until the people stop demanding the product.

What the Fear of the Lord Actually Looks Like

Paul reminded the Ephesian elders of his own example: I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel… I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak (Acts 20:33-35).

He worked with his hands so the gospel would cost the church nothing extra. He was not chasing a brand. He was making sure the message never got confused with a hustle.

Jeremiah confronted the shepherds who scattered the flock instead of feeding it, and God said plainly: I will visit upon you the evil of your doings (Jeremiah 23:2).

Ezekiel said it even sharper — shepherds who feed themselves, clothe themselves with the wool, and let the sheep go hungry and scattered while calling it ministry (Ezekiel 34:2-4).

And Paul, writing to Timothy about the very spirit driving all of this, was blunt: the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows (1 Timothy 6:10). Not a warning about wealth existing. A warning about what happens to a man’s soul when the love of it gets into the pulpit.

The Question This Leaves Us With

This is not a call to despise every preacher with a tattoo or a nice suit. Character was never measured by ink or by a closet. That was never the point, and turning it into a legalistic checklist would just be a different flavor of missing the mark.

The point is this: somewhere, the qualification for standing in the pulpit quietly shifted from the fear of the Lord to the size of a platform. Somewhere, a congregation started confusing a brand with an anointing. Somewhere, “does he look like he could carry the room” replaced “does he tremble at the Word of the Lord.”

Paul told Timothy the itching-ears season was coming. He didn’t tell him to be surprised by it. He told him what to do instead: preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine (2 Timothy 4:2).

Stay faithful to the Word, even when — especially when — it stops being what people want to hear.

The Church does not need more celebrities. It needs shepherds who love the sheep more than they love the brand.

We must become the altar where the fire falls again.

WHEN A NATION’S GATES ARE LEFT UNGUARDED

The Spiritual Battle Behind Britain’s Immigration Unrest

Something is stirring across the United Kingdom. From Glasgow and Liverpool to Kirkby, Taunton, Essex, and other communities, people are gathering to protest uncontrolled immigration, illegal border crossings, asylum hotels, housing pressures, and what they believe is the government’s refusal to hear their concerns.

This unrest did not appear overnight. In May 2026, 41 percent of Britons named immigration as one of the nation’s most important issues. During the year ending March 2026, the United Kingdom recorded 43,806 detected arrivals through illegal entry routes, including 39,271 small-boat arrivals. The protests now appearing across Britain are the visible evidence of a pressure that has been building beneath the surface for years. (Ipsos, UK Home Office)

But the Church must see beyond the political headlines. This is not merely an immigration crisis. It is a battle over truth, justice, national stewardship, compassion, identity, and the spiritual gates of a nation.

THIS BATTLE IS NOT AGAINST PEOPLE

The Word of God declares:

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world.”
— Ephesians 6:12

Immigrants are not the enemy. Refugees are not the enemy. Men, women, and children seeking safety or opportunity are human beings created in the image of God. Many have been exploited by criminal trafficking networks, manipulated by political forces, or driven from their homes by war, poverty, and persecution.

The spiritual enemy is working through lawlessness, deception, exploitation, governmental negligence, public fear, and uncontrolled anger. He does not care which side people stand on, provided he can drive them into one of two destructive extremes.

On one side, he promotes open disorder without accountability, borders without enforcement, compassion without wisdom, and policies that ignore the legitimate concerns of local communities. On the other side, he seeks to transform public frustration into hatred, racism, intimidation, and violence.

Both extremes serve the kingdom of darkness.

BIBLICAL COMPASSION DOES NOT REQUIRE NATIONAL LAWLESSNESS

Scripture commands God’s people to show compassion toward the stranger.

“The stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself.”
— Leviticus 19:34

But the same Bible also recognizes nations, territories, governments, laws, boundaries, and gatekeepers. Acts 17:26 tells us that God determined the appointed times and boundaries of nations. Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem’s walls and appointed gatekeepers because an unguarded city was exposed to disorder, exploitation, and attack.

Scripture also declares:

“One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.”
— Exodus 12:49

Biblical compassion welcomes the stranger while requiring one standard of justice for everyone. Mercy does not eliminate accountability. Hospitality does not mean abandoning discernment. Loving people does not require a nation to surrender its borders, disregard its laws, or ignore the safety of its citizens.

A government has a responsibility to know who is entering the nation, prevent criminal exploitation, protect vulnerable people, enforce its laws fairly, and preserve public order. That is not hatred. That is stewardship.

WHEN LEADERS REFUSE TO LISTEN

When governments dismiss every concern about immigration as prejudice, they create a dangerous vacuum. When ordinary citizens believe they cannot speak honestly without being shamed or silenced, their frustration does not disappear. It goes underground, grows hotter, and eventually erupts.

Britain is now witnessing that eruption.

Peaceful protest is a legitimate expression within a free society. Communities have the right to question government policy, demand secure borders, oppose illegal entry, and call for accountability. Police themselves have affirmed the right of citizens to protest lawfully while preparing for demonstrations and counter-demonstrations in places such as Kirkby and Taunton.

But the moment protest becomes violence, racial hatred, intimidation, or an attack against innocent people, it crosses a spiritual and moral line. Righteous anger must remain submitted to righteousness.

“For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.”
— James 1:20

The failure of government does not give citizens permission to become lawless themselves.

THE ENEMY WANTS BRITAIN DIVIDED

The strategy of darkness is becoming increasingly visible: turn citizen against immigrant, neighbor against neighbor, protester against police officer, race against race, and political faction against political faction.

If the enemy can persuade Britain that its only choices are uncontrolled immigration or uncontrolled hatred, he wins either way.

But Heaven offers another path: truth joined with mercy, justice joined with compassion, secure borders joined with humane treatment, and lawful government joined with accountability.

The Church must refuse the false choice between loving the stranger and defending the nation. We are commanded to do both under the government of God.

We must be compassionate without becoming naive. We must support lawful borders without surrendering to hatred. We must expose criminality without condemning entire populations. We must protect local communities while remembering that every person standing at the border has a soul for whom Christ died.

THE REMNANT’S ASSIGNMENT IN THIS HOUR

The British Church cannot remain silent, but neither can it become another angry political faction. This hour requires watchmen who can discern what is happening spiritually and speak with both courage and restraint.

The Remnant must pray for governmental leaders to receive wisdom and courage. It must pray for law enforcement officers attempting to preserve peace between opposing demonstrations. It must pray for communities carrying the consequences of failed policies. It must pray for migrants being trafficked, exploited, or deceived. It must also pray that violent agitators, criminal networks, and those seeking to use this unrest for hatred will be exposed and restrained.

The Church must call for:

  • Secure and lawfully administered national borders.
  • The dismantling of human-trafficking and smuggling networks.
  • Equal enforcement of the law for citizens and newcomers.
  • Protection for genuinely persecuted people.
  • Accountability from political leaders.
  • Protection for communities affected by irresponsible policies.
  • Peaceful public engagement without racism or violence.
  • A recovery of Britain’s spiritual and national identity under God.

This is not a call to hostility. It is a call to righteous order.

For some time now, Holy Spirit has kept my attention fixed upon what is unfolding across the pond—not to produce fear, suspicion, or hostility toward people, but to sharpen our spiritual discernment. I believe He has been preparing me to develop spiritual-warfare strategies for the Remnant in America, because the same powers of deception, governmental disorder, division, intimidation, and spiritual compromise that have gained influence in the United Kingdom are seeking greater access within our own nation.

We must understand that our warfare is not against flesh and blood, immigrants, refugees, or any people group; it is against the spiritual forces exploiting human suffering, failed leadership, public anger, and national confusion to weaken the gates of nations and divide their people.

Therefore, I call upon the Remnant in America to stand in the Spirit with our brothers and sisters across the United Kingdom. Let us arise in prayer, intercession, and righteous decree, declaring that Heaven is releasing a powerful, Holy Ghost-filled reformational wind across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. We decree that watchmen will awaken, compromised pulpits will be cleansed, courageous voices will arise, and the saints will become united beneath the lordship of Jesus Christ.

May the ancient wells of revival burst open again, may the fires of prayer sweep across the land, and may the Church stand tall without fear or compromise. Together, we decree: United Kingdom, return to the Lord! Let righteousness be restored within your gates, and let Jesus Christ once again be exalted throughout the land!

A PRAYER AND DECREE OVER BRITAIN

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift the United Kingdom before Your throne. We ask You to release wisdom, courage, and righteous judgment over those entrusted with its government.

Expose every trafficking network, corrupt agreement, criminal enterprise, and political deception that profits from human suffering. Protect the innocent, defend vulnerable communities, and bring justice to those who have been exploited.

We decree that the spirit of violence will not hijack the legitimate concerns of the British people. We decree that racism, hatred, intimidation, and lawlessness will find no place to take root. We declare that truth and mercy will meet, righteousness and peace will embrace, and Britain’s gates will be governed with wisdom.

Awaken the watchmen. Strengthen the righteous. Give the Church courage to speak truth without hatred and demonstrate compassion without surrendering discernment.

Let Britain remember the God who carried her through war, revival, hardship, and transformation. Rekindle the fires of prayer that once burned across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

May righteousness be restored within her gates, justice within her government, truth within her streets, and the fear of the Lord within her people.
